Hello everyone, I am Barney. I have an interesting story to tell, but I am glad that it ends on a happy note!
On 3/29/04, my Aunt Jan got an email from a nice lady in Nebraska. Someone she knew found me in a ditch near Lincoln, Nebraska. They called the Humane Society, but no one was missing a Scottie, and they wanted to make sure I was okay. My body was full of burrs and all kinds of stuff. My hair was so long that it was hard to see a dog under there! My toenails were very long and curled under, and I was very, very thin.
My Aunt Pat & Uncle Tom got me that very same day from the nice lady, and here's a picture Aunt Pat took of me.

I am
kind of a hairy guy, huh? Aunt Pat tried to get all this hair off from me
but I wasn't too sure about it. I enjoyed being at her home and playing
with the other dogs. They knew right away that I had a good personality
and would be a "keeper". No one claimed me, so I hitched a ride up to
Minnesota to Aunt Jan with another foster dog, Gracie. Aunt Jan was going
to foster me, and Gracie was going to another house. Well, sometimes funny
things happen. We went to Gracie's foster home and they let me out to play
with everyone and I liked it so much and so I stayed! They adopted me!!
Can you believe that? I am so happy. I have a Scottie brother named
Fala (get it, we're Fala and Barney - the Presidential Scotties!!), and a Westie
brother and sister, Annabelle and Albert.
I love my new Dad, Dave. Wow, he is everything a Dad should be. He's
really proud of me. Mom's not bad either. She keeps us fed and lets
us outside. Here I am with my new Mom!
And here's my brother Fala with Mom.

And here is Albert (left) and Annabelle (right), my new Westie brother and sister.

Thank you to everyone who helped me get to where I needed to be and into my new home. I am a VERY happy boy and very lucky.
Love,
Barney
