4th Annual Halloween Party

October 28, 2006

A wonderful day, wonderful company and wonderful dogs!  It was all ... WONDERFUL!

We had a good turn out - lots of new faces and familiar friends and dogs.  We have a mighty creative group of folks when it comes to dressin' up the hounds.

A HUGE THANKS AND MAJOR ARRROOOO to Kathy & Randy Johnson for the use of their beautiful horse facility for our party.  Kathy and Randy have graciously let us terrier folk run amok on their wonderful grounds for our party the past four years, and we truly appreciate the kind gesture.  Besides, we get to see their FIVE beautiful terriers - four Westies and a darling Cairn - all of which have found their forever home with Kathy & Randy.

We started out the afternoon with socializing and sniffing.  The humans were talking and the dogs were checking out all the smells and each other.  We started the costume contest around 2 pm and had some fantastic entries.  Each year, the costumes get a bit more creative and the dogs get cuter.

First place went to Brutus, Buster, Misha and Annie and their people.  They were sharks with a lone swimmer.  It was really funny!

Second place went to Mr. Dusty and the Dogettes, a rock group and their manager.  Mr. Dusty himself along with Aunt Stella, Heidi, Day-zee, Pup-pee and mom Sharon looked like they were on tour.

Third place went to Matt Dillon and Miss Kitty, Duncan and Holly.  They sure were gun-smokin' hot!

Honorable mentions went to Phoebe who was dressed up as spaghetti and meatballs - waaay creative!

Our other honorable mention was to the Big Bad Wolf dressed as Grandma, and Little Red Riding Hood.  Stanley and Heidi were oh so cute in their outfits.

Every one of the dogs at the party was a winner and it's getting harder and harder to pick 1st place.  Everyone is so creative.

We played a game of musical mats and did the sock race.  We laughed at nearly 16 yr old Molly (Scottie) as she ran around the arena.  She had more energy than alot of us out there that day and it is always fun to see her enjoying herself so much.

Thanks to all who came out and enjoyed the afternoon with us.  It was a grand time!  And thanks again to Kathy and Randy, Wynne, Gracie, Marina, Calvin and sweet Tali for sharing their home with us on Saturday, October 28th.
