Meet Pal!

Pal finds her new home

I'm back in Iowa!  I graduated from foster care on February 7, 2005.  This will be known as my "gotchya" day.  My new mom is a nurse and she knows how to take care of people really well, and as you might guess, a lot of that loving care will make it's way over to me.  I am going to have a great home and wonderful life with my new mom and my new brother, Junior.  He's a Doxie and he's older than me, so I'll be the baby of the family.

I am feeling really good!  My hair on my chest has grown back and I've got a few spots on my sides that will be growing in, but I'm well on my way to good health.  I've lost some more weight while at Aunt Jan's house, and she made sure I got some low-cal snacks so I wasn't so hungry all the time.

My new mom is a dream come true.  I hope all the other dogs out there waiting for new families get one as special as mine.  I'm not one to show my affection a whole lot, but I was so excited that I could not help kissing my new mom over and over!  WOW!

Unfortunately, the picture of my new mom and me did not turn out, so we'll get some up here later.  But, here are two pictures of me on my journey to Iowa.  When we first started out on our ride, I did my walrus imitation.

Too bad you can't hear the noises that I was making while doing my walrus imitation.  It would make you smile!

Everyone tells me how special I am.  I know one thing, I am very lucky to have so many people who love me.

Until we meet again, Pal

Hello everyone, my name is Pal.  I am an 11 yr old Scottie girl who has been in rescue for awhile.  My owner passed away and I was at the Cedar Heights Pet Hospital in Iowa for a couple of months after that.  They took really good care of me!  After they tried finding me a forever home, they found out about rescue and called Aunt Jan.  Some really nice people picked me up and I got to stay at their house two nights.  I loved munching the kiddie stuff!  Kleenexes are way cool!

On December 5, 2004, Mark, Barb, Caroline and Holly loaded me up in a crate and we drove to meet Aunt Jan.  I've been here since and I've improved a good deal.  I need to have a bath once a week for my skin (some of my hair is missing).  I am also on a diet!  I weighed 50 lbs at one time!  YOWZA!  I currently am down to 32 lbs, and my red sweater is getting baggy on me.  I love wearing sweaters because they make me all warm and comfy.  Know what else I like?  GETTING FED!  Here I am giving Aunt Jan the FEED ME NOW OR DIE look.

I am currently looking for a home.  I have a lot of love to give and am quite a character.  If you think you have it in your heart to provide a lifetime of love, I promise to give it all plus a bit more right back at you!

Love,

Pal (where's my dinner?)
