Raven

Updated 1/18/04 - Wow ... you would not believe what has happened since Aunt Jan last updated my page!  I had a really wonderful haircut from Aunt Linda on 1/10/04.  We went over to her house and she thought I was a really sweet girl.  Here's my before and after picture:

Don't I look beautiful?

Whew ... well there is always good news and bad news, so I'll do the bad news first.  On 1/12/04, Aunt Sue brought me to the vet and I had an operation so the vet could look at my bladder and see why I was having so much trouble with that darn thing.  The vet ended up removing a good portion of my bladder because I had a tumor, and we got the report back and I have Transitional Cell Carcinoma, which is bladder cancer.  No chemo for this girl.  I'm going the other route and will be taking a drug called Piroxicam which has helped other Scotties like me with this disease.

The best news of all is that the family who wanted to adopt me still wants me!  1/18/04 is my official "Gotchya" day.  I got held by both of them while my two watery-eyed Aunts (Sue and Jan) looked on.  Geez, those two are such babies sometimes.

I instantly liked my new mom and dad.  They got me my own new "red" collar to go with all my Westie sisters.  Dad says I even have some new "bling-bling".  He got me a silver tag with my name and address! I guess that means that I'm really theirs!  Here's a picture of my dad and me and then mom joined us too.

I think this is pretty cool, and I have to say a big special thank you and I love you to Aunt Sue who was my foster mom.  I was her very first foster, and even though she's sad because I'm not with her, she is happy that I have such a wonderful home.  Thank You!!

Love, Raven

Hello everyone!  My name is Raven, and I am a special girl.  I am 13 years old and about as lovey as they get.

I am in foster care currently, but my Aunties keep telling me about this wonderful family that wants me.  They have three other girls and they're Westies!  That will be fun, because my foster brother, Booker, is a Westie and I think he is really cool.  Here's a picture of Booker and I.

My family had to move and they felt that I wouldn't be very comfortable where they were going.  They love me a whole lot and are concerned about my well-being, but they know that there are some folks who have already fallen madly in love with me.

I love treats, and I love my food.  I dance for both regularly.  I'm a regular Rockette when it comes to that stuff!  (Kick, step, kick, step.)

I have been at Auntie Sue's house because Auntie Jan has so many other foster dogs at her house.  Auntie Sue loves me a whole bunch and is taking very good care of me until I go to my new home.  I got to be at Auntie Sue's house for Christmas!

I can go to my new home as soon as I go through some stuff at the vet's office.  What a nice New Year's this will be.  We're all getting a fresh start in 2004.  Special hugs to my sister, Claire.  I am glad you found your special forever home, just like I'm going to!

Love to all of you who love me,

Raven
