Updated 1/4/04 - Mom sent Aunt Jan some new pictures of me so everyone can see how wonderful I'm doing. This new home stuff is GRAND! I get to ride in Dad's truck and even go on overnights with him sometimes. I think 2004 is probably going to be the best year of my life. Thank you Mom, Dad, Carys and Vacha. I love being a member of the Volk family!

I'm all ready for my new life! I got a new mom, a new dad, and a sister who kinda resembles me. Look out world - Here I come!
Sam, formerly Scotty, was in the Fargo/Morehead Humane Society. Although he was in a foster home, he was in need of someone who would love him unconditionally the rest of his life. Thank you to Sam's Godmother, Marcie Useldinger, who notified Memory of Monroe Scottie Rescue about Sam. Marcie wondered if we could find a home! Certainly! Just a day or two before, an application came in from Sara Volk, a long-time email friend who is a wonderful Scottie mom. She was looking for a Scottie boy to fill her heart after losing her beloved Angus. The rest is history - Sara drove to Fargo to get Sam and it's been a wonderful journey for Sara, her husband David, and Sam. Sara reports that Sam is in love with her husband David, and he has acclimated to his new home very well. He is a very sweet and loving little guy and we are so happy to report on his wonderful new life in his home. Many thanks to Liz, the Director of the Fargo/Morehead Humane Society for making this happen, and special thanks to Sam's other Godmother, Jo McKnight for her good wishes and interest in Sam's journey. He is a lucky little guy to have so many people love him!

It's amazing how they all can give "the look".

Sam's life is not complete without his beautiful sister, Carys!
Sam can receive compliments, praise, and kudos via his mom. Those darn opposable thumbs!
