Winnie the Fabulous Westie

Updated on October 1, 2004

We are saddened on this day.  Winnie found her forever home at the Rainbow Bridge.  While in the midst of making transportation arrangements to get her to her forever home here on Earth, Winnie's body began to fade.  Winnie peacefully went to the Rainbow Bridge this afternoon, in the loving arms of her foster parents, John and Stephanie Wisecarver.

Winnie captured our hearts, and we are all better for knowing her.  Although clearly stressed at losing her long-time home, she adjusted in foster care and enjoyed her new found life.

We thank John and Stephanie Wisecarver for giving Winnie love and great care since she came into rescue.  We also thank Winnie's waiting dad, John Person, for his unconditional love and excitement at getting his girl.  We know she took a piece of his heart with her on her journey to the Bridge.

Sleep well dear Winnie.  You are loved.

Hello Westie, terrier and dog lovers of all kind,

My name is Winnie, and I am a 14 yr old Westie girl in search of a family to love.  My story is sad, but I'm doing okay.  I am happy as long as I'm getting attention and being the cute girlie that will melt your heart.

As I entered my golden years, my kidneys stopped working like they should.  At my age, things are kind of wearing out, I guess.  But, just because I leak a little bit doesn't mean that I don't deserve a wonderful home and a good family.

If you have room in your heart for a sweet girl that gets along with other dogs, cats and kids, I may just pack my bags from my current foster home with three Westies and a Scottie, and move in with you.

Other than my, a-hem, leaking problem, I am healthy.  I enjoy the things other dogs enjoy, like a nice place to sleep (which I kind of do a lot of), and a good bowl of chow now and then.

In return I promise what I've done all my 14 plus years -- I will give you unconditional love.

Winnie, the Fabulous Westie
